Real Girl

Trapped in woolen walls
of my own knitting
Who can I turn to
who can I blame?
When all this mess
is of my own making.
Why are they staring?
Why are they hating?
Don’t they know
Can’t they see
this brick wall of lies
standing tall infront of me
Don’t let it stop
don’t try to hard
take it easy -
they’re yelling
suffocating me with their
Competent compliments
and murdering smiles
I don’t want their love
don’t need their praise
I need a hero to save me from my grace
to crash through my barrier of perfection
to see through the false impressions
I promise you
there's a real girl inside
and her time is tock tocking away
