All It Takes

I've been down all of these roads before;
I know exactly where they lead.
But no matter how many times I take them;
They never lead you back to me.
I've seen all these faces before;
I usually know their names;
But no matter where I go;
These days; they're all the same.

You think of the things that you hold deep in your heart;
The things you know would take everything to tear apart.
You think of the memories; that like me; you deny.
But you know you still want them back when you look inside.

Well it's a backwards T-shirt;
And a letter from home;
That's all it takes to make you feel alone.
And it's the smell of his shirt;
And that stupid movie at nightt;
That's all it takes for you to be on my mind;
And for me to know you're doing just fine.

I've heard all of these songs before;
I've even sang them all to you.
But no matter how many times I recite them;
They're just as fresh as old wounds.

You think of the things you couldn't live without;
The things you know that could never count;
But you think of the days; that like me; you try and forget;
But you no matter what; it's what you most regret.

And it's backwards T-shirts;
And letters from home.
That's all it takes to make you feel alone.
And it's the smell of his shirt;
And that stupid movie at nightt;
That all it takes for me to be on your mind;
And for you to know I'm doing just fine.

Wouldn't you know; I miss you.
