A Man I Once Knew

I laugh as I swallow your lies
Knowing them for what they are.
Your eyes are windows to your soul.
Allowing me to read you, as easily as I read a book.

Your mannerisms leave much to be desired.
Your nose is so high up in the air.
You cannot see where you're walking.
So you trip and fall.

Arrogance is ill becoming of you.
You're a cocky coward!
A lily-livered shadow of a man.
No spine of your own.

You lie and think that I cannot tell.
The slight upward curve of your lip and shifty eyes, give you away.
Yet, I smile meekly, seeming as if I believe every word.
I'm a good actress.

Here's a morsel of truth for you.
I hate you.
With every fibre of my being.
And you can go rot in whatever abysmal place you crawled out of.
