A Little Light

Shimmering light
Dancing like fairies
Across the background of the sky

Beautiful sight
As sweet as berries
I can’t help but sigh

They cut through the water
Scattering the glow
And yet it continues to flow

I lie and watch
As the light fades
Now it’s just a grey haze

Black is the sky as I say goodbye
And whisper a hope that floats through the night.
