The carnival of life.

Life was but a carnival ride
A place I hated to go
Round and round the merry go round
A ride that was far too slow.

Up atop the ferris wheel
A sudden fear of heights
See men leap and try to escape
All while trying to enjoy the sights

Teach me how to play this silly carnival game
"A game of life and death
a game of shame and fame."

I'm tired of seeing two paths to a dime
The silly, taunting mine.
As people play these pointless games
We're running out of time.

And here I am alone
The circus is closing down
It's me against myself
This miserable, smiling clown.
