Beautiful Car Crashes Heed Distressed Spirits

I walked down to the corner at eight,
I waited for your car,
I figured you were late.

Rain poured down from the heavens above,
I smiled to myself as I recalled that one time,
That you told me of your love for the rain.
Minutes ticked by,
I stood calmly and waited.

I saw your car turn the corner,
I got up from the under a nearby tree,
And dashed through the sea,
Of puddles.

I continued to run but slid to a stop,
Tears began to cascade down my face,
As the sound of tires screaching ran through my mind.

Flashing lights and screams engulfed me,
I looked around in confusion,
As the rain poured down,
Where have you gone?
What did you do?

The flashing lights begin to blur,
The screams get softer and softer.
Everything goes black.

I wake up with a gasp,
I'm back on that corner,
It's five minutes passed eight.

I see your car rush down the water slicked streets,
I want to stop myself from running,
I want to stay here, feet planted firmly to the ground.

But as I will myself not to go,
The scene is played out again.
Everytime there's the same end.

I hurry out to your car,
But I never get very far.
You skid to a stop,
But you hit me everytime.

The world goes black,
And I realize that I've died.
It's the same old situation,
Night after night.
I'm trapped in this nightmare,
My soul is forever bound to this accident.

I walked down to the corner at eight,
I waited for your car,
I figured you were late.
