A Knight Alone

The war has passed,
And conflict gone.
The knight has left,
The battlefield long.

His sword blunted,
In a blood-drenched sun.
Missing a wife,
And a buried son.

His strikes were strong,
His victims many.
A blade of steel,
And a horrific enemy.

In God’s name he strikes
Casting down the heretic
Armed with sword and pikes
In a world filled with haters

A fighter’s heart,
Completely unknown.
The reaper of war,
A Knight alone.
