The Titanic

1912 was the date
When the Titanic met her terrible fate
The ship was made for luxury
But was soon to be faced with misery.

The builder of the ship had no patience
He wanted to beat people’s expectations
Because of this great need,
He convinced the captain to increase the speed.

In the middle of the night,
The look out saw a horrific sight
An iceberg ahead
Filled him with dread.

As the ice tore the ship
The people’s hope started to slip
They were told not to panic,
But the people were manic.

As children were drowning
The sirens were sounding
The people lamented
As the ship was tormented

Once full of magic,
The Titanic, oh, so tragic
To the “Unsinkable”
Had come the unthinkable.
