Ring of Fire

The world encased us,
In fire meant to kill.
We fought, courageous,
And love and love still.

With the smog and smoke,
Our lungs near collapsed.
But you, my dear, spoke,
You broke free at last.

We planted sturdy,
Roots extending deep.
Below and dirty,
We began to seep.

With rain pouring down,
The seed grew and grew.
Beyond the wet ground,
Our see bloomed anew.

And now we are here,
With spirits in the cloud.
And now we are here,
With love wrapped in shrouds.
