Christmas: As Seen by an Atheist

A tree decorated with lights and childhood
ornaments, A Christmas Carol playing with us
huddled round the TV like its flickering screen
held flickering flames, and music bursting from the
kitchen speakers, merrily exclaiming the time
of year; we are a traditional family.
But we are a group full of
heathens, nonbelievers. We
open presents, give them happily,
celebrate peace on earth and all that jazz,
But can't accept Jesus as the son of God,
or that there is a
God
in the fist place.
We are All There Is,
but we are plenty enough to celebrate.
