The Light

Big dreams in a small town fade,
always wanna run and getaway.
Dramatic events wanna never cease,
holding on hope is all I need?

My imagination can't handle the pressure,
my life is just full of too much tension.
The light I see is very slim,
the closer I get the more it dims.

My penmanship is full of faults,
I stand on my hands to try to walk.
I run for my life in pain in glory,
tears stain all the chapters in my story.

My loneliness goes on for miles and miles,
occasionally I stop and fake a smile.
I roll my eyes in ignorance and pain,
my heart shuts down to inform me "life's a game."

Unfortunately that's all it is,
it's a personal test of my own will.
Verbal words make my heart not pace,
and the light up the road is finally erased.
