Throw Away Your Mirrors

You seem so perfect,
With little to no defect,
A smile upon your face,
And a glint within your eyes.
Every word is chosen well,
No onlookers could tell
That you have secrets,
All hidden behind your makeup.
You believe in all that's positive,
There is a reason to live,
Just like yours is to pretend
That you are strong and perfect.
But within your framework
Constant to irk
You are the imperfections
You sought to replace.
A tiny little thing,
You are to bring your body
Havoc and distaste,
With it comes resentment.
Purge yourself of lies,
Because all that tries
To separate you from your
Goal, will not work.
It's not all that much,
Gross tasting to the touch,
But if it works well,
You will appear attractive.
