That One Lone Firefly

That one lone firefly floating
Carelessly through the cold summer air
As the lightning flashes bright, blinding messages
And unleashes booms of thunder that shake the windows inside.

That one lone firefly pushing through the cascade of downpour,
Lighting up, searching for it's mate.
The one firefly that's the bravest of them all to be out and proving his strength.
Others are scared and weak.

No signs of showing hopelessness, but true courage
As that one lone firefly pushes on.
Fighting through it all,
Searching for his one true soulmate.
