Drowning

Everyone was calling out to me
As I slipped underwater
To be with you
And swim in the depths of your love.

Everything was beautiful
In our special land of color and love.
We were safe
And there was not a worry to be found.

But soon you took my air for yours
And I was left to suffocate
And meet my death.

Because you found your own safety
The water is now out of my ears
And everything is much clearer.

I don't need you
Or anyone else to save me.
