Songbird of Sorrow

some dreams die before being
nay, they die after meeting
that bird who sings songs of sorrow
that awake you in the morrow
and rouse you from that awful dream
he has been singing all night in fact
sowing sweet stories that crawl upon your back
they dig into your spine and break into your brain
they tear at your thoughts turning insane
it's when you wake when it's at it's worst
it seems like you've dream't some kind of curse
see, the songbird sings you into believing,
listen to me! his songs are deceiving
but there is a way to swallow your pain
to make his depression depreciate away
find him while he sings and ring his neck
or burn him until there's not a speck
your dreams will be free of all his sorrow
there will be calm when night turns tomorrow
