God

Before the world was made, you were the king.
Then, when you breathed life into us you were
Our one and only god for whom we sing.
The entirety of our bodies were pure.
Then through our own selfishness did we turn
Into a hateful and evil people.
To kill for the pleasure of one who burns,
Who drowns, who drops from the very steeple.
But throughout our lives you find a reason,
And you choose to stay with us in our hearts.
Though another king would find this treason
Tis why we glorify you in our arts.
I know you listen and can hear me now
That i will soon, in all your glory, bow.
