WALK
Leaves covering roads once walked
Looking like something new
Heavens still pink from a chilly night
Sunrise again, to drew the dew
Soft sounds of music pouring down
From old oak trees
Playing that same old classic tune,
of the birds n' the bees
Soft this pathway
Hidden well
Sparkling leaves sheltering gravel
Crimson stars, slow cascade
I am unafraid of where it will travel
Fireworks of orange, hues of auburn
Wonders of autumn against stone
I am no longer afraid to walk it alone
Scents of pine in moistened mornings
The cool of dawn against faces
The warmth of your hand, my heart races
... Memories of old... in a fallen leaf pile
You reach my pace, take my hand...
Feel free to join me... and make me smile...
