Chocolate Brown

When I look in the mirror,
Do I like what I see?
Is that a rhetorical question,
You are asking me?
When I look in the mirror,

But all I see,
Staring back at me,
Are those chocolate brown eyes.
That everyone says reminds them of,
Coffee.
But coffee is used,
Not respected.
People take what they want from it,
Then throw it away.
Is that what I am?
True, it does something for you.

Which nobody cares.
People say they remind them of the color,
Brown.

Since they are clearly brown.
But then they come back,
To say they remind them of mud.
