Unintended Intentions
So I’m sitting here alone
Wondering what went wrong
Was it something I said?
Perhaps a slip of the tongue?
No, it was something else
Yes, it was something I did
Starting from when I dragged her
From the cupboard in which she hid
Yes, yes, now I remember
That was when she started screaming
I looked down at her small head
Saw all of the tears start steaming
I told her to calm down
But at that point I’d had enough
I began knotting a rope
The texture thick and rough
So I’m sitting here alone
Now knowing what had gone wrong
Staring at a coat hook
From which my dead wife is hung.
Wondering what went wrong
Was it something I said?
Perhaps a slip of the tongue?
No, it was something else
Yes, it was something I did
Starting from when I dragged her
From the cupboard in which she hid
Yes, yes, now I remember
That was when she started screaming
I looked down at her small head
Saw all of the tears start steaming
I told her to calm down
But at that point I’d had enough
I began knotting a rope
The texture thick and rough
So I’m sitting here alone
Now knowing what had gone wrong
Staring at a coat hook
From which my dead wife is hung.

First poem in years, didn't spend too much time on it. It's not exactly a laugh a minute but hey, let me know what you think,
