To Be True To Yourself

To be true to yourself is to go insane

Society is nonexistent unless you are normal
Its rigorous reality loses credibility
When you refuse to listen to millions of voices
So
Are you not mad when you ignore them

Inside each heart is a secret mirror
And in it is the person you will always be
Many are frightened, and the majority lies to itself
So
Are you not psychotic when you choose to look

Everything different is viewed as dangerous
Parents bluff as they embrace their children
Telling them their happiness is all that matters
And
Are you not crazy if you believe them

The pale hand of social order is heavy
Those who cast it off are labeled as freaks
