sorrrow ringing sunshine

Be careful what you wish for.
'Cause it might come true.
And your heart will hurt
a hundred times more than it did at the start.
I want to go back to the start,
back to the Fall of that bitter(sweet) year.
Looking through time's empty telescope,
the distorted pictures always come clear.
I wished away the influence that sought to blow your boat
away from the harbor, away from me.
And now, the sea which pressed against me on all sides,
during that stormy season, suffocating, drowning, has lifted.
And the blue sky is quiet, too quiet.
The symphony of the birds dulled in the muted light.
The hurricane left us with a sorrow of stillness,
lost in the peace of the wreckage.
And once again I'm left wishing I could be
what you need, not what you need to blame.
