Life Goals (My Role Models)

There she is, fighting pain,
Her lips taste just like Novocaine.
There she goes, feeling numb,
When the buzz wears off, it's back to square one.

There he is, snorting coke,
All he needs is a mirror and his suicide note.
There he goes, totally smashed,
Someday soon he's just gonna crash.

Somehow they've got to deal,
They make this pain surreal.
Their lives are romantically picaresque;
Of the worst, they're the best.
They may not know where they're going,
But they're finding a way out.

There she is, fading out,
Cutting deeper to bleed it out.
There she goes, sinking down,
Another supernova shoved underground.

There he is, shooting up,
Using bullets when dust's not enough.
There he goes, to the grave,
They knew this was coming, just not the date.

Somehow they managed to deal
By rendering their lives unreal.
Their stories were fantastically picaresque,
When it came to solutions, they found the best.
They didn't care where they were going,
As long as they were going out.
