Flames Over Fame

Play with fire and you'll get burned.
This is a lesson by many well learned,
But not by me for I'm the exception.
I'm sure you'll agree, even with a different perception.
I played with fire and I didn't get flamed.
Even if I could, for it, be easily blamed.

Only the inexperienced catch fire
Which sometimes proves, for them, to be dire.

But that's besides the point. You see,
The flames aren't always our enemy.
They can also be our good friends
As long as you're able to commend.

Fires kill hundreds everywhere, everyday
Coating the ground in ashes of gray,
But it was a great fire that saved my life.
It ended a six-year long strife.
