My Window

I sit and look out my window,
Watching the rain fall.
I close my eyes and start to wish,
To just be away from it all.

The thunder muffles their screams,
The wind takes away my horrors.
For a minute it all seems better,
Yet I’m still shaken to my core.

I then open up my dreary eyes,
And I know it won’t ever be over,
The blatant fighting won’t ever stop,
Even with my four leaf clover.

So I’ll sit and look out my window,
Watching the blackened trees sway.
I close my eyes and start to wish,
For another day.
