Final Good-Bye

Here I sit
Watching them fight
This is just going to be another terrible night
He swung at her face
Hit her jaw
Knocked out a tooth
Thank God that was all
She aimed for his throat
He tripped over a chair
Fell on the floor
I could hear from upstairs
He cursed up at her
Nothing had changed
But tonight was the night for my escape
To another family
Hopefully someone better
Because of everything
Who had known soon
Felt like forever
I waited by the door
With my suitcase at my side
This was it
My final good bye
