The Moonlight Adventure

I watch the cranes silently, they don't know I'm there
A shooting star flies by from who knows where
The cranes look up and stare off into the sky
It all looks so beautiful that I want to cry

I trip on a rock and startle the cranes
They all fly away like feathery planes
I look now at the empty pond
The one I was actually quite fond of

I fall asleep on the grassy dirt floor
I'm not able to keep my eyes open anymore
I wake up to find the moon had disappeared from the sky
I wonder why, and I never even said goodbye

But I smile, knowing that the moon,
It will come back soon
And this could be fun,
I have a whole new adventure in the sun
