Love is a Lie

All the time, I wish I could get what I want.

But all love life is, is just one big taunt.

Can anyone, please, just tell me why?

Don’t pretend love is real, it’s all just a lie.

Even if I don’t like what you say,

Forever and ever, I will ask you to stay.

Given a chance, maybe I can show you how this,

Hard to believe, is a step closer to a kiss.

I will tell you how much you really mean to me,

Just sit down right here, and let me get on my knee.

Kissing and touching, then I pull out a ring,

Loving you is what causes all of the birds to sing.

Many times have I tried to tell you,

Not long ago, all of my dreams came true.

Opening my eyes, I saw you walking through the fog,

Passing by, and therethrough began the prologue.

Quitting was no longer on my mind,

Rather, searching through my head, you were all I could find.

Sometimes I saw the glimpse of a heart,

Thinking of you, and we were never apart.

“Unachievable, unapproachable,” I thought to myself.

Vague and mysterious, you kept to your self.

When I began to walk toward you, your beauty’s all I could see,

Xystus-like, and beautiful, like an autumn cherry tree.

Yesterday we were nothing, in the sky, a single star.

Zeros no longer… together, we’ll go far.
