The Color of Love

Ruby red and Sapphire blue,

A swirl of colors surrounding you.

Glowing, shining like a star,

Nothing is more beautiful than what you are.

I miss your smile, oh so warm

I miss your laugh in its beloved form

But most of all I miss the colors, shining oh so bright,

Bright enough to light up the darkest of nights.

My vision, blurred from this view,

All these magnificent colors becoming askew.

And now when I think of you while you're so far,

All I can do is play these songs on my guitar:

I miss your smile, oh so warm

I miss your laugh in its beloved form

But most of all I miss the colors, oh so beautiful;

The way they make me feel is so unusual.

But now I've opened up my eyes

And I've finally come to realize

The colors are still there,

There lingering in the air

Because when you left, they did not disappear;

These colors have stayed with me through all of these years.

These colors are oh so true,

These colors are true as a morning's dew;

They're all around; below and above

And true,

True is the color of love.
