This Silence Is Deafening.

Silence.

Silent since summer.

Lips locked like a jail cell.

Words catch in her head,

unable to escape their confines.

She settles.

Settles for the silence.

Lets it consume her,

take her over.

She is not who she was.

Last year, last month.

Change.

Is it supposed to happen this way?

Gone from near to distant in a matter of minutes.

Who is she?

I can no longer recognize.

She is not alright.

Not at all.

And I can’t help but notice that,

even though her words are scarce,

she is loud.

The silence is louder than the words she could speak.

Deafening.

I'm not really a poetry type person, but I really like this and I just felt like sharing, I suppose.
