The Artist
Life disappears.
Love is shaky and uncertain,
concluded by a hymn;
A humbling event;
poetry with unmatched familiarity
that conveys emotional gravity
as rare as ascending rain.
An oppressed artist,
defined by one single response;
A tortured artist gained passage
to a new life
carved by pain and fear
where, when seen by children-
innocent recipients of torture unrightfully withheld
from the deserving hands-
he is, himself, as a child,
repressed,
yet full of conflict.
Strange and unremarkable,
trapped in a world just as powerful
as pain being delivered.
His own thoughts
drawn out in black and white,
imagination imprisoned,
disappearing slowly.
Beaten,
Until there remains nothing but
an empty poet.

The source material for this erasure was an article about a volcano explosion in Chile. I did this for a creative writing class, so unfortunately i cannot provide it here.
