The Smile

Pain that shots through you like a spinning bullet
burning and tearing as it travels deeper inside
it leaves a sharp bitter taste
that stays with you
pain that cant be fixed by a cast or
covered by a band-aid
continues aching and throbbing from the inside
leaving a need, and a yearning
that stays with you
everyday you try to smile through it
you try to laugh and cover your pain
so no-one knows how you really feel
when your so empty inside
