The Comic Relief

The room is dark except for the small night light next to the mirror
An eye swims into view in the huge reflecting glass in front of me
I twirl the mascara wand and watch my eyelashes grow dark and long
As I add the blush a head pops through the door a with a strong voice says
"1 more minute"
I gather my bearings and head down the stairs
Hesitating for a second I peer through the opening and step out
Expecting my family to be sitting at the table, I gasp
They have all been replaced by actors. Waiting for my next line.
I whimper not knowing what to say at all. Everybody else waiting with anticipation.
I panic not knowing what to do.
