Childhood Memory.

The blissful essence of childhood
For each and every year
Such an essence slowly fades away
Precious memories of the past,
Signified by my pallid reflection
My limp and lifeless strands of hair,
A complexion of many shades of dull grey
My once smooth, flawless skin,
Creased with imperfection
For I have seen the ways of the world
The feeling of curiosity now abandons me
For when I'd run energetically
Yet still wandering behind
As mother offered her palm
When the life among me was truly magical
For now I must give farewell
To the packs of sliced bread,
The colourful paving I'd set foot upon,
The picnics upon the grass
I must bid goodbye to my magical world
But I'll never forget the adventure I once had
For they'll always be recaptured with the grey hair,
Resting upon my head
My time will eventually come for me,
For me to also rest
But I promise
These memories shall never be forsaken
As they are of too much beauty to merely leave behind
For in my head
In my heart
They'll stay with me
Always
Even when my time comes,
My time where I have no choice,
No choice but to depart
And descend into the heavens.
