Simple, uncomplicated beauty

There's something about the way the glare of white melting snow
contrasts with the brown of the trees, the grass, the world
that breaks my heart.
Especially when you add the orange glow of a setting sun.
It is life and it is death.
Uncertainty like a first kiss.
the snow is melting away, dying
but bringing in the new life of spring
just like spring does as it fades to fall and brings snow again to life.
I sit here, another shade of white and brown,
silhouetted in the sun set as the wind flows around me
and the brown river below
as i think of hwo simple it all is
and how difficult we make it.
