Metaphorical Bathtub

I wish to sink in deep
And breath in something
More dense than air
Let all my troubles disappear

I sit in a puddle
Filled to my lips
Drowning myself
In sadness
And fear

All the pain that I dwell in
Oh, how it drains me so
The water is gone
The puddle is dry
I sit in an empty cavern
The chance to end
Is gone

The world is a bathtub
My life, the water
The drain is sweet death
Calling my name
Beckoning me towards it
In a downward spiral

It’s like someone
Filled the porcelain basin
Then changed their mind
And took out the plug
Laughing at how quickly
The water drained out

People are cruel
Look at how they laugh
While I pull the gnarled dagger
Out of my back

Fill the basin
Sink in to the nose
Don’t bother listening
To the sadness this shows
I’m just sitting here
Sinking
In my metaphorical bathtub.
