Keeper

The sickeningly sweet scent of blood
Pours into my nostrils and I hear that thud
A satisfactory slam into the ground
And now you'll regret the truth I found

I bring the now crimson-stained blade
To my lips, I whisper “away you should have stayed”
From him you stole me under my nose
Now you're the one lying; your body throes

The enlightenment I felt when I sliced your throat
Watching as in a pool of your own blood you float
Has made me grin to no end, now he will be mine
That face of his, complacently divine

Your blood at my feet soiling my shoes
I walk away and now I'm his to choose
Discarding the knife, I toss it to the ocean
And now his heart I am to win

For I am no longer blinded by
The envy and the lie
To think you would go to him
I told you to stay away, my whim

Being my best friend meant nothing
So with blood on my hands now bussing
Tranquil moon light guiding my path
I'll go claim him for myself, and I laugh

Thinking just how little you'll be missed
Hope you remember the last time you kissed
It will be your only accompanying memory in hell
And now your body is just a simple empty shell

Your fixated permanent sleep
No tears I shall weep
Now you die, tonight
And him is mine to keep.
