Quiet and Pensive

I've kissed the crystal clear shores of heaven
And I've skirted the blistering heat of hell
I've sailed the seas of confusion
Rising with the ebb and the swell

I've held in my right hand my hopes
And reached with my left for the sky
I know that I'll reach it one day
Sooner or latter I'll fly

When you've pleaded the case of the broken
And fought the one-sided war of self hate
You find that hope comes in small doses
To drink them down is your fate

I hope that the beat down heal quickly
So they can claw their way to the top
I cheer for the little guy profusely
Grow taller, you can beat them, don't stop

Know that if I don't see you I'm drifting
From six to ten I'm not in
I'm already floating through dreamland
Condemn me if dreamings a sin
