Confusing the Innocent

She stares, puzzling, questioning, looking at the Star
This Monster

She stops, thinking she has the answer
But he still keeps another face, including the smile

Her face says used, her soul says innocent
A good heart, a pure soul

His face says calm, cool, collected
His soul says Monster, demon, savage
A black heart, no soul

She cries, her tears fall in pity of him
She lies, telling him it's for nothing
He knows, he can read her thoughts
He shows, the only light he has
She can't make eye contact, she won't look
She's afraid to see him for who he truly is
Her pigment tells all as the light sheds to pain and suffering
When she finally meets his gaze

She cries, her tears fall in pity of him
She lies, telling him it's for nothing
He knows, he can read her thoughts
He shows, the only light he has

As he looks at her with bloody tears he makes her feel comfort, at peace

She cries, her tears fall in pity of him
She lies, telling him it's for nothing
He knows, he can read her thoughts
He shows, the only light he has

She's puzzled, why him?
