Oh Young Jack

Oh, where did you go?
I miss you so.
Children at such a young age,
Don’t notice things that make others feel so strange.
They don’t realize how quickly things are gone,
They just continue to sing their silly little songs.
Oh, what an age, as careless as can be,
I only wish to again be that free.
But you were once a part of that,
And now it seems that you were gone at the drop of a hat.
Now I don’t know where to go,
Oh, young Jack, I miss you so.

Written for a creative writing class where we had to write poerty every day for a month. I'm not a poet and I will never claim to be, but I kind of liked this one. I think it might just be the message in it that I like.
