When Dreams Fly

i) Candles are almost extinct
Replaced with star dust and fire-lit hearts
Ignited by dreams
And kindled with love

ii) You feel it in your chest
The quiet whispers of the long forgotten secrets you kept as a child
About being someone
About flying away to a different piece of heaven
Maybe you could get there
If you caught one of your dreams
And held on tight...
Maybe if you weren't afraid to try

iii) You sit and watch them go by
Pretending like they are shooting stars
Hoping that your wishes will come true
Wishes aren't the same as dreams, though
They live and love and die.
Just like actuality
It is soon forgotten

Because even though hearts hold truths that words can only hint at
Dreams give them wings and let them go.
