You Did But You Don't

You liked me once.
At one point in time, we were great friends.
We used to hang out and sit together at lunch.
We used to play together at recess.
We used to sit together in class.
We shared our secrets.
One time, we were friends.
But I'm not so sure anymore.
Because now you have new friends.
Better than me by every standard.
You sit with the cool crowd at lunch now.
But you would never think to sit with me.
Your memory betrays you.
I've known you longer than anyone else.
But I guess that doesn't count.
What once was will never be again.
We will go our seperate ways.
But I still hold the memories close to my heart.
And someday, when I'm gray and old, I will look back and smile.
Because I will never regret meeting you.
Even if you have forgotten me.
