My Sunshine

The skies are blue, the sun so bright;

Animals come out to wind so light.

Stare at the sky, something to do every day.

So please don’t take my sunshine away.

Wind grows strong; leaves shake and quiver.

Raining down endlessly to make me shiver.

What happened to the sun,

What happened to the skies?

I had pleaded to keep my sun;

The request was only one.

Going as far as to say:

“Please don’t take my sunshine away”

Why then, oh why, does the rain come down

Why has my sun gone behind those clouds.

Please sun, come out.

Join me in this to make my day

The wind still is restless,

The rain, endless.

The skies are grey

And so they shall stay

Maybe I am to learn a lesson

Oh sun, is there a lesson to learn from this,

Or will I never again feel your warm sweet kiss?

Is this a lesson for hiding,

Are you afraid or maybe in pain?

Is that why you cry, making it rain?

I wish I could help you, save you from this.

I’ll find a way to help,

Oh lord, what can I do,

I would like my sun have some bliss.

I just want to keep my sun happy.

But what if it doesn’t work?

Look, is the grass greener to you?

Maybe that’s just me.

Or maybe I’m not as crazy as I seem,

Because of the rain, the street is really clean.

Water is falling into rain barrels and bowls,

Would the animals outside drink that?

The water will soak into the earth

The farmers’ plants will grow to be happy..

Maybe the sun is teaching me this.

Might that be it sun;

Am I to run and have fun?

The rain is to clear up in awhile,

I’ll just take this chance to play meanwhile.

Thank you oh Sun, for teaching me this.

I’ll might laugh and play but you will be missed.

I will wait for you to come out before I have lain.

‘Till then I’ll just run, to dance in the rain.
