What IF?

What if the sky was gray instead of blue?
What if everyone shrunk instead of grew?

What if the trees didn't produce green leaves?
What if honey didn't come from bees?

What if the earth stood still?
What if not knowing you was my will?

What if I hadn't cared to listen to your pain?
What if I didn't want to win this stupid game?

What if this poem was published?
What if I tore it into shreds?

What if 'What if' was never invented?
Would we all forget it about it then?
