A Different Day

A Different Day

Another tear to frame her face.
A forgotten soul without a place.
Trying to break out, but she can't escape.
Another shadow loses it's shape.

All she wants to hear, she can't say.
A few simple words that feel so cliché.
They could save the life, even the soul,
of this broken girl who wants to be whole..

Can you tell her, it will be alright..
Everything will be okay..
Something tells you
Tomorrow
will be a different day.

You didn't mean those words you said.
All those dirty lies you spread.
You didn't know
Tomorrow
you'd be the reason she was dead!

An empty chair in a silent room.
Her locker bare like an empty tomb.
And the guilt that eats you as it spreads,
those words you chose yelling in your head..

Can you tell her, it will be alright..
Everything will be okay..
Something tells you
Tomorrow
could be a different day.

Admit that you were wrong,
you could have helped her all along.
Perhaps she'll tell you
Tomorrow
that everything's okay..
