People talk about
burning bridges behind them

I think I do that a lot
I run from my demons,
and I don't stop
until I know they can't catch up

But it's not possible
no matter how much of a head start I have
and no matter
how many obstacles
I leave in my wake,
They don't stop chasing after me.

They're faster
and more powerful

I just can't get away.
