Sandy Shores

I'll wonder sandy shores, my home
Walk where many have before
Where imprints are always washed by dawn
The ocean not so willing to hold on
To all of her passerbys

The horizon will be known to me
One day- one day when I am alive
Everything this world can hide
But for now- I'll walk these shores
Set my sight on sea, on sky

Yellow sun has long been lost
The day is ending here
Red and other colors spilled
By some clumsy painter's hand
What a wonderful mistake that's came

The clouds roll in, no stars tonight
What a shame it has to be this way
The world to part under stormy skies
And all to sleep in the darkness it brings
I can already smell the rain

The water will swell tonight- and tomorrow
I'll wonder new shores again
Storm brought tides always leave the best treasures behind
Like some simple, wonderful reward
For just surviving one more day

But now, I'll have to hide in shadow
The day is at its end, and so must be my time
I'll leave my footprints in the sand
Pray that maybe they'll be tomorrow
If miracles have it, they may...
