Broken Inspiration

Inspired by the sunlight
By sand and skin and waves
Writing this by candle at midnight
I fell my sanity slipping away

The shadows dancing eerily
Across the windows and mirrors and floors
The sliver of flame flickers mysteriously
Giving life to glass and wood and more.

Water is dripping sluggishly
From faucet or gutter or open wound
Oders drifting pungently
Mixing quietly within the room

Secrets travel soundlessly
On wings of hot and cold
Evading my conciousness easily
As has been done forever untold

Trapped ijn this reality of the faithless
Where all is dark and nothing exists
Altered only by the dim awarness
Of those who lack the will to resist

The ceilings move like oceans
Under tides of light and dark
With smooth and fluid motions
Beautiful enough for the artists remark

The colours dull and weakened
By the lack of light in the air
The textures pale and deepened
By a day longs relenteless wear

Inspired by the anguish
Of days and nights without sleep
Unable even now to explain this
Without any glow to recordd what I see
