Flowing River

I saw a girl
She was crying
Crouched by the flowing river

Her black make-up smeared in tears
Flowed from her eyes into the river

I asked her if she was okay
A silly question, I know

She replied,
"This river flows beautifully.
It's perfect figure is flawless.
I sit here tainting its power.
With my wortless tears
and chunky, fat, ugly figure.
This river is so much more beautiful than me."

I was taken back from her words.
It was just a river.

But, I sighed and said,
"This is just a river.
With a beautiful figure.
A cold, heartless, preceeding figure.
It's insides are freezing."

I stroked her arm and continued,
"You, my dear, and warm and inviting.
Kind-hearted and just as beautiful.
The river's water pours in jealousy
Of you."

She smiled and walked away from me.

I never saw her at that river again.
