Dead Raindrops

Long ago leaves swirl around my feet, winter clutches my skin just as a python
My tears freeze before they fall, encasing my silent agony in ice
The air rings with piano keys, the very ones you entranced me with
I cover my ears with my aching hands, opening my mouth in a mute scream

Your presence coils around the atmosphere, every sleeping tree quakes in fear
“Leave me be!” I plead, I wonder what you see in me, what makes you wander back
A ‘Shhh’ echoes through my head, vaporizing faith, breaking bravery, shattering strength
I remember that voice all too well, as your fingertip barely inch up my spine

Your chin rests on my shoulder, you gently wrap your hands around my wrists
You turn me around to face you, your features are shadowed in pure evil
Your lips kiss every tear frozen beneath my lashes, melting every one, you let them fall
I remember those Eyes all too well, a cerulean blue glow that captures my wings

You circle me with slow steps, a wolf surrounding it’s prey dangerously
I can’t say no, my heart betrays me, I’m so close to you, I can hear your past victims screams
Our fingers intertwine, your canines nip my bottom lip, little midnight red droplets surface
I remember that touch all too well, as I bury myself in your cold embrace

Heaven’s rushing with all it’s power to get to me before you bring me down
I can faintly hear the wings of God’s children beating fiercely, racing from the tips of the sky
You pull me just a little closer to the lit match flickering under your alabaster skin
Our passion dances in a fury that of a wildfire, Angel’s cry in artic despair as I become a fallen

The snow quietly falls, covering every flame, the line of time stands still
You breathe in my heartbeat, and grip my lungs, I surrender my soul to you
My veins crawl up to the top of my skin, waiting to be broken and emptied
“You belong to me” you whisper, the offer of the Devil is rather tempting indeed
