The Bystander Effect

The Bystander Effect

Carve your face,
Oh, what have you to hide?
Beneath the flesh,
A time-lapse suicide,

Mirrors hate,
Constantly covered,
Until ripped back,
A bloodless lover,

Who knows your pain,
Calling out with smiles,
While you stand screaming,
“I’m full of denials!”

Yelling, sobbing,
But why should you care?
We stand here slashing,
Out chunks of our hair,

Hair that no longer,
Covers our eyes,
So you can’t avoid them,
LOOK and DESPISE.
